PRESENTATION TEMPLATE
We Have Updated Our Google Slides Template!
Why are we updating our template? We’re always driving for a mix of consistency and freshness with the Inmar brand. Consistency helps our brand remain recognizable, while freshness keeps things interesting and fun. This new version of our template strikes a great balance between both.
We are also making some updates with this version to better align with Aki branding, making it easier for all teams to create synergistic, go-to-market materials.
NOTE: THE FOLLOWING UPDATES ONLY AFFECT OUR SLIDE TEMPLATE.
What has changed?
WE HAVE A NEW PRESENTATION FONT
We’ve aligned on a new font with a little more personality that is available standard with Google Docs. All Inmar decks will now use Montserrat — which is similar to Aki’s font, Avenir.
Please note! When updating frequently used decks to the new template/typeface, this typeface is a bit wider and might impact how current headlines break on the page.

CAPITALIZATION
USAGE
In response to feedback and questions about our use of all caps, we are reducing the overall amount of capital letters used in slides. Never use all caps when more than 4 words.
Only use ALL CAPS for title slides or section divider slides.
.jpg)
Title case usage for headlines (just capitalize the key words in a headline) outside of title or section slides as shown below.

OUR INMAR
ANGLE
Our signature Inmar angle makes our materials ownable and instantly recognized as ours. Consequently, you'll see we are still using them throughout the new template. We are, however, simplifying their overall use to treat them as accents that bring your eye to the headline as in the sample above — or for emphasis as you see below.

COLOR
USAGE
We are using more of our signature MIDNIGHT BLURPLE in the templates. It’s been in our brand standard from day one and we are letting it speak a little louder in this version of the template. It is now used in our materials as a secondary anchor, and it’s moving more to the forefront in some layouts.
We are also continuing to use our main DEEP PLUM color, to retain brand equity. Brand equity is directly related to a brand’s main color. Think about UPS brown, Target and Coke’s red, and H&R Block’s green.

You will also see the new template uses our existing color palette, but in a more elegant, punchier way. We don’t want our slides to look like a kaleidoscope of color. The use of color should be to draw the eye to key information.
.jpg)
USE OF
WHITE SPACE
We are introducing more negative space into our layouts. The goal is to provide visual relief for the viewer and give greater focus to all the content on any given page. We have been notorious for cramming 10 pounds of content in a 5 pound page.
Your mission is to create slides that aren’t packed with content. This will ensure the content you have will better be remembered. Most people skim content. When there is too much on a page, a reader’s eyes tend to glaze over and they tune out your valuable thinking.
Create the slide and then look at it to see how you can simplify it. Or create two slides if you have a lot to say and you really need all of the content.

PHOTOGRAPHY
You will also see that the new template includes more lifestyle images. We’ve done this to align with our Destination Postcard message of “we improve consumers’ lives.”
You can still use the existing photo library, and we will be adding additional lifestyle photos.
When and how to use these slides:
-
All Inmar-led pitches will use the new Google Slides template and direction above.
-
For joint pitches with Inmar and Aki, it is critical that a few slides prior to the Aki slides use the darker background version as a segue to Aki slides, to create synergy between the two brands.

What if I need a slide that’s not offered in the template?
-
We will be happy to create new versions of slides.
We just ask that you provide clear direction around the request and work with the Corporate Marketing Program Manager, Brian Smith to get the request entered in Jira.
-
If you create a new slide, you need to send it to Corporate Marketing for approval. Then, we can add these new slides to the overall template and give EVERYONE access to your new brilliance.

ICONS LIBRARY
ICONS USAGE GUIDELINES:
Our custom icons should be used when you are simply trying to improve visual interest or direct the user / reader’s attention.
Do not use more than 5 icons on one page, as this defeats the purpose of icon usage.
If you are in need of a more detailed depiction of a process or specific product offering, an illustration would be the better approach.

ILLUSTRATIONS LIBRARY
ILLUSTRATIONS USAGE GUIDELINES:
Illustrations should be used for spicing up larger spaces with a graphic. These are custom illustrations and have some fun details, so please don’t use them too small. They become difficult to discern. For small spaces where you would like a graphic, please use our icons.
